I smile when I see this picture because:

a. Maddie's hair flying up behind her is hilarious and totally out of character.
b. Steitler appears to be in the beginning stage of a 1980 breakdance routine.
c. they could not possibly be further off on "jump together: 1,2,3 jump!"
d. they think this picture is ridiculous and have no clue that I am filing it away in my "Rehearsal Dinner Slideshow" file.

Answer: All of the above.

This picture makes me sad because:

a. Uncle Sam lives hours away now.

b. we had no clue we would miss Uncle Sam so much.

c. the kids will be wearing their own caps and gowns sooner than I would like.

d. all three of these people are way too grown up.
